2167           Birth of Abraham.

          Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah - These cities have been located on the southern end of the Dead Sea. Their Destruction caused the high level of salt concentration which we have today.

1886-1879           Time of seven years of Plenty - This would be during the reign of Sesotris III. who ruled all of Egypt thru the help of Joseph. Genesis 45:8
1879-1872           Time of the seven years of Famine. during this time Jacob and his sons came to Egypt.
1786-1570           13-17th dynasties of Egypt. (The Hyksos Domination)
1766           The Shang Dynasty -First documented Chinese dynasty.
1650           Minoan civilization found on the island of Crete.
1570-1320          Time of the 18th Dynasty of Egypt.
1527          Birth of Moses - It was  Queen Hatshepsut who was the daughter of Pharaoh, that drew Moses out of the Nile.
1487          Exile of Moses in Egypt.

         Reign of Amenhotep II the  Pharaoh of the Exodus - After this Pharaoh the next three pharaohs considered the worship of one god compared to many gods. Many scholars believe this is because of the God of the Hebrews humbling the many gods of Egypt. After the death of Amenhotep II, Thutmosis IV ruled Egypt. His stela stands in between the paws of the great Sphinx.

        Time of the Conquest of Canaan by Joshua - During this time period Joshua prays for the son and moon to stand still. so that they can defeat their enemies. Proof of this miracle is found in many historical records of an extended day or night depending on their location on the earth. Thus, showing evidence consistent to the biblical record.

          Reign of Pharaoh Merneptah - The 13th son of Raameses II. during his reign a stone record detailing a campaign in which Israel is listed as a nation. this is the earliest known record of the name of Israel in Egyptian records.

1086         Time of the judge Samson. even after his death many legends have been formed, such as the Greek legend Hercules.

763         Time of Solar eclipse which was recorded in Nineveh and Jerusalem on June 15.
759         Nineveh struck with another plague.
755-731         Time period in which Jonah preached at Nineveh which caused a major revival. Possibly the two plagues and solar eclipse prepared the people for Jonahs message of judgment.
702-701         The Besiegement of Jerusalem under King Hezekiah. During this time Jerusalem was delivered when an angel of the lord destroyed Sennacherib's army of 185,000 men, during one night.

7        Birth of Christ. This is due to an error in the Ancient calendar. This was also confirmed by the date of the roman census based on documents found in the roman archives.

        Massacre of infant boys 2 and under by Herod in Bethlehem and surrounding villages. Later that year, Herod the Great dies.
 
26-36           Time of reign of Pontius Pilate, Governor of Judea.
 
33           Jesus is crucified in Jerusalem, then on the 3rd day rises from the dead, and is seen by over 500 eyewitnesses.
 
34           Stephen is stoned outside of Jerusalem, Saul of tarsus witnessed it.

45           James the son of Zebedee is killed by Herod Agrippa in Jerusalem.

48-62           Ministry of Paul.
54           Phillip is stoned in Heirapolis, Phrygia.
54-68           The Reign of Emperor Nero. This was the first of ten major persecutions periods for the early church.
63           James the lesser, stoned and clubbed to death in Jerusalem.
64           Barnabus is burned at Salamanca on Cypress. That same year Mark dies by being dragged to be burning in Alexandria, Egypt.
66           Time of the Magdalen Papyrus, oldest new testament manuscript containing part of Matt. 26.
69-70           Romans Destroy Jerusalem under the command of General Titus.
69-155           The time of Polycarp, who was a disciple of the apostle John and also a friend of Ignatius. Polycarp had access to the original manuscripts of the New Testament.
79           The city of Pompeii was destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
81-96           The time of Emperor Domitian. who banished the apostle John to the isle of Patmos. This was the second major wave of persecutions against the early church.
92-94           The apostle John writes the book of Revelation while exiled on the island of Patmos.
98-117           Time of Emperor Trajan-According to the Pliny the second, who saw of Christians being put to death. this was the third major wave of persecution against the early church. During this time Ignatius was martyred.
100           John, the last of the original 12 disciples to dies in Ephesus. after being released from his exile in Patmos, John spent his closing days, in the collecting and forming of those writings we call the New Testament.
 120           The birth of the Waldensian church.
120-202           Time of Irenaeus, who was a pupil of Polycarp, fought against heresies of his day.
138-161           Time of Antoninus Puis, This was the fourth major wave of persecution against the early church. During this time Polycarp of Smyrna was martyred.
150-215            Time of Clement of Alexandria.
160-220           Time of Quintus Tertullian.
161-180           Time of Marcus Aurelius.
185-254          
          Time of Origen - Appointed as head of the catechetical school of Alexandria, Egypt. through his teachings he was known as a Gnostic who took platonic philosophy and blended it with the Bible. Origen was the first to teach the theory of purgatory, Hell was non-existent and all non-baptized infants could not go to heaven. It was Origen who mightily influenced Jerome, The editor of the Latin Vulgate.

 
 
193-211           Time of Emperor Septimius Severus - This is the fifth major wave of persecution against the early church.
200-258         
          Time of Cyprian- First recorded church father after the apostles to quote the Trinitarian verse I John 5:7 For there or three that bear record in heaven. The Father, The Word And The Holy Ghost and these three are one.

 
 
208           Quintus Tertullian in his defense against heretics reminded them of the original autographs of the New Testament that were still in in existence.
220-270           Time of the Sabellianism which taught Jesus, the Father and the Holy Ghost were identical. This teaching did not last long and was quickly destroyed.
235-238          
          Time of Emperor Maximimus Thrax - This was the sixth major wave of persecution against the early church. during this time everything was done to exterminate all Christians. Many as Fifty were killed and buried together, because of the multitudes that were slaughtered.

 
 
249-251           Time of Emperor Decius - This was the seventh major wave of persecution against the early church.
250          
          Certificates of Death - During this time certificates of sacrifice were demanded of all Christians. punishment included exile with confiscation of goods, Torture and imprisonment were used to induce repentance. Death was seldom inflicted, persecution was worldwide and many church leaders perished. many of the errors that crept into the church during this time arose from placing human reasoning above the authority of scripture.

 
 
250-336           Time of Arius of Alexandria who taught the doctrine of Arianism which taught that Jesus was not God in the flesh.
253-260           Time Of Emperor Valerian-This was the eighth major wave of persecution against the early church.
260-340           Time of Eusebius of Caesarea, who was the first historian of the Christian church.
287-305         
          Reign of Emperor Diocletian - During his reign came great persecution upon the church. Diocletian said about the persecution "If these bibles are not destroyed, they might become buried seed that would spring forth to influence others"
 
312-331         
          Constantine becomes emperor of Rome - He gave complete freedom to the Christians by the Edict of Milan. During his reign, he instructs infant baptism. He also ordered and financed a rival Greek Bible that had been exploited by the forces of Heresy and apostasy that came from Alexandria, Egypt. It is believed that Codex Siniaticus and Vaticanus were two of the 50 Bibles that were ordered.

 
 
312-1453           Time of the Byzantine period.
313           Edict of Toleration (Milan) Constantine granted freedom to all religions in the empire.
325        
          Council of Nicea - The first of many church councils was convened to deal with a heresy called Arianism. This doctrine, originated by Arius of Alexandria, Egypt. that taught that that Jesus Christ was not divine but a created being.
 
330           Prayers for the dead and the sign of the cross were instituted.
347-407          
          Time of Chrysostom of Antioch - Served as archbishop of Constantinople.  Known for his preaching of sin in high places as well as low.  Was banished by Empress Eudoxia.  Was nick-named Golden Mouth.  This church father was relied on more than any other by the translators of the King James version. 

 
 
350 - 450           Time of active use of Codex B (Vaticanus) 
354-430          
          Time of Augustine - The bishop of Hippo, Africa, for 35 years.  Was considered the greatest of the church fathers in the West.  He helped form Christian theology and started the first monastery in North Africa.

 
 
363           Council of Laodicea - This council upheld the 39 books of the Old Testament as the word of God.  The book of Jonah was almost considered a fable.  
373-463           Life of Patrick.  
381           Council of Constantinople - This council endorsed the Nicene Creed and added the Holy Spirit as deity forming the trinity.
395           Rome is divided into two parts, Eastern and Western.
397          
           Council of Carthage - This council considered the 27 books of the New Testament as the final completion of the Holy Scriptures.  Among the books that rejected were: the Gospel of Thomas and Phillip, the Epistle of Barnabas, and the Acts of John.  Note:  These books as well as others originated from Alexandria.

 
 
410          
           Barbarians attack Rome - First time an invader had entered Rome in 800 years.  Many people blame Christians for the attack.  Augustine responded to their charges in his theological masterpiece "The City of God".

 
 
425           The date of Codex Alexandrinus.  
431          
          Council of Ephesus - Endorsed the worship of Mary and the use of the title "Mother of God".  The council condemned the following:  No such thing as original sin, man can save himself, Christ is our example-not our savior.

 
 
445           
         Western Roman Emperor Valentinian III - Officially recognized Pope Leo I as ruler over the church.  Also referred to as Leo the Great.  It was Leo who urged that those who disagree with the Roman church on matters of Christian beliefs should be put to death.  Leo was officially recognized as the first pope.

 
 
451           Council of Chalcedon - This council declared that Christ is both man and God.  
476-1453           Dark Ages
527           St. Catherine's Monastery is established by Constantine's mother.  
570-632           Life of Mohammed.  
590-604           Reign of Pope Gregory the Great - Popes today even use the title of "Pontifex Maximus", a title once used by Roman emperors. 
600           Latin used exclusively in worship.
610          
         Mohammed declares himself a prophet of Allah - Which gave birth to the Islam religion.   Mohammed rejected Jesus as the Son of God and reduces him to one of the prophets of Allah. 

 
 
644           Romanism becomes the official religion in England.
709            Kissing of the popes feet was instituted - A custom that originated with the pagans who kissed the emperors feet.
742-814           Life of Charlemagne.
787           Second council of Nicea - This council declared that images could be set up and given honor but not worship,  since worship belongs to God alone. Image breaking was condemned. 
844-899           Time of Alfred the Great.  The first great king of England. He helped in many ways to make England a nation- state.  
904-911           Time of Pope Sergius III - Had a mistress and lived in a palace which he turned into a den of robbers.  His reign was known as the "Rule of the Harlot".  
955-964           Time of Pope John XII - He used his palace as a place of prostitution.  He was killed in the act of adultery by a jealous husband.  Britannica says, "he conduct was scandalous and his politics unsuccessful."
1009           Fabrication of holy water instituted.  
1016           Canute the Dane became king of England.  He ruled England, Denmark and Norway. 
1032-1045          
          Time of Pope Benedict the IX - Became pope at the age of 12 thru money and politics.  He surpassed John XII in evil deeds and his crimes included the robbing of graves.  He sold the office of Pope for 1,000 pounds of silver.  When  he was paid, he refused to surrender it.

 
 
1066           William the conqueror becomes King of England.  
1070           Marriage of priests forbidden.  
1090           Rosary beads invented.
1095           Pope Urban II started the Crusades and even presented crusading as a way of insuring one's salvation.          
1096-1099           Time of the first Crusade - By July 15, 1099, the Crusaders take Jerusalem.
1147-1149           Time of the second Crusade - The French and German armies were destroyed before they reached the Holy Land.  
1150-1220           Time of Peter Waldo.
1154-1189           Reign of Henry II, King of England.  
1167          
          The earliest recording of the Albigenses - They lived in Albi, France, who protested against the Roman church.  Their protests were silenced by fierce persecution sponsored by Pope Innocence III in 1208.

 
 
1189-1192          
         Time of the third Crusade - The English king, Richard the Lionhearted, joined his French and German counterparts to lead what is remembered as the Crusade of Kings.  Very little was accomplished and many people became disillusioned with the whole idea of crusades.

 
 
1189-1199          
        Reign of Richard I, the Lionhearted king of England - Richard was known for his love of crusades to the Holy Land.  Some of the infamous legends of Robin Hood are set during this time period. 

 
 
1190           Sale of indulgences instituted - This was the remission of temporal punishment due for sins after penance had removed guilt.
1199-1216           Reign of King John of England.  
1202-1204           Time of the fourth Crusade - This crusade never reached the Holy Land, but instead attacked and robbed the city of Constantinople.  
1212         
          Time of the Children's Crusade - Several thousand French and German children marched toward the Mediterranean Sea expecting God to open the sea as he did for Moses.  Many never made it beyond the Swiss Alps.   Those who managed to make it to the sea were tricked by sailors and became slaves.  By 1291, the crusades were over.

 
 
1215          
          Signing of the Magna Carta - Early morning on the 15th of June, a group of English noblemen and clergy met King John on the meadow of Runnymede near London.  They forced him to sign the Magna Carta which became one of the most important documents in the history of the world. 

 
 
1215           Sacrifice of mass officially recognized. 
1218           Time of the fifth Crusade.  
1228           Time of the sixth Crusade.
1229           Council of Toulouse - This council forbade laymen to own bibles.  
1231          
          Roman church begins the Inquisition - Since the teaching of the church were considered absolutely true and necessary for salvation any deviation from them was regarded as dangerous, possibly even fatal to the individuals eternal salvation.  This institution sought out heresy rather than waiting for it to emerge.  By 1908 this institution was responsible for the murder of 68 million Jews and Christians. 

 
 
1248           Time of the seventh Crusade.  
1270           Time of the eighth Crusade.
1294-1303           Time of Pope Boniface III who proclaimed "therefore we declare, state, define and pronounce that for every creature to be subject to the Roman pope is altogether necessary for salvation."
1330-1384           Time of John Wycliffe.  Known as the Morning Star of the Reformation.  He wrote the first translation of the  Bible into English.
1334-1351           Black Death in Europe.  
1337-1453           Time of the Hundred Years War.
1347           Time of the Black Death.
1369-1415           Life of John Hus.  
1382           Wycliffe's translation of the scriptures was complete and was based on the Latin Vulgate.
1401           The Roman church punished by death anyone found preaching John Wycliffe's ideas.  
1412-1431           Life of Joan of Arc.
1415           Time of the Council of Constance.  This council ordered that John Wycliffe's books were to be burned and that his remains be dug up and burned. 
          John Hus burned at the stake.
 
1428           The Order of the Council of Constance was carried out.  
1438            Purgatory was proclaimed.  
1450           Johann Gutenberg invents the printing press.  The Bible was the first book printed.
